URBAN BARN WORKSHOP FEAT. JILL FRASER (PART TWO)

This is another post on….

HOW TO BRING SPRING INTO YOUR HOME!

Here are some tips and tricks I learned from Jill Fraser at her Urban barn Workshop the other night.
The Bedroom

Bringing colour into your bedroom can be as easy as changing your throw pillows. Jill was showing us how to use Euro Shams BEHIND your sleeping pillows. That way you get a pop of colour just above your neutral every day pillows. She suggested two Euro Shams for a Double or Queen bed but to use three for a King.

Of course, your side table can come to life with a few subtle changes. Fake flowers are always great for any side table. Personalized touches like picture frames, your favourite books or even candles with your favourite scents can add a lot of character to your room.

 My favourite rule of thumb:

Always decorate in threes! This is the best rule to remember when you’re placing items around your house.

The Living Room
With this living room Jill has really brought the outside in. She chose to use whites, creams, greens and greys to pull this look together. I LOVE all the greenery behind the couch. This is actually a look I’d love to replicate in my home. The tall green light behind the couch would be GREAT in between two rooms because it’s got detail all the way to the floor.

I love love LOVE this pillow combination. Who doesn’t love a good palm tree print?

The Bedroom (Take two)

Looking to bring a little bit of colour into your bedroom? Green is a great colour to incorporate. It’s not too bold but it’s a fantastic way to liven things up for Spring! I love these pillows against the white bed and I really like the greenery on the tray at the end of the bed. Imagine this in your guest bedroom?

I wasn’t planning on buying anything but you know me… ‘Miss Decor’. I ended up picking up some super cute baskets, an adorable fake plant (so many places for this thing!!!), beautiful candle holders and a romilly decor ball. Can’t wait to start decorating for spring!
