ONE ROOM CHALLENGE- WEEK FOUR- FALL 2017

WOW I’m a bit behind. Sorry guys. I’ve been just a tad preoccupied because we welcomed our BABY GIRL!!!! “Evelyn Anne” was born on October 24th at 12:13pm weighing 6.11oz. We are so insanely in love. Of course, it’s taken a couple weeks to get into our new routine so I’m FINALLY getting in to my groove and getting back on track (hence the late posts). She’s two weeks old today and I wish I could just make time stop. I don’t want her to get any bigger.

I’m sure I’ll have more baby posts in the near future. We just can’t get enough of her (and mommy can’t stop taking photos of her). If you’re interested, I just finished writing all about my labour story for the Snuggle Bugz blog. It will go live later this week.

Ok Ok… back to the One Room Challenge. Normally participants would have a total of six weeks to complete their rooms. For the Fall 2017 ORC they have actually given everyone a one week extension because of all of the natural disasters between Texas, Florida and California. That means we’ve got a few more weeks for all of the beautiful reveals.
This week I’d love to update you on a few things we’ve done to prep for the reveal. Remember the blue walls we had when we started this project? You can see them in Week One’s post. Those had to go. I decided to go with Benjamin Moore’s Cloud Cover for our walls. Its an off white colour that has a warm buttery tone. What a DRASTIC difference the paint made. We ripped up all of the hardwood that was originally in the room and had our contractors lay down some beautiful engineered hardwood. We wanted to use the same flooring that we put throughout the main level and basement of our house. This actually helps to create the illusion of a bigger space and I just love that it keeps everything consistent. Scroll down for pics.

Once we added our headboard and our mattress it finally felt like we were making some progress. Next up… art and accessories! Don’t forget the dressers I refinished in week three. They look AMAZING in the space. Can’t wait to show you over the next few weeks.
